Whenever the end of my vacations come to a close, I feel this overwhelming wave of dread.
I am stuck in a funk for weeks, until I force myself to accept the fact that I'm in Harrisonburg.
Soon, I won't have to deal with it.

We have one more night, as we have decided to just stay in VA Beach before heading home tomorrow.
We spent most of our time in Kill Devil Hills, NC, and it was pretty amazing.
It's refreshing to not be surrounded by Wal-Marts and McDonald's.
There are so many local businesses and restaurants, it seems impossible to get bored.
We ate at this awesome little breakfast/sandwich place for breakfast, where I got a bacon, egg, and cheese burrito with pico and salsa, and it may just have been the best burrito I've ever eaten. And for like, three bucks.
The thing I love about North Carolina beaches is that they aren't touristy like Virginia Beach.  There are hardly any boardwalks, just beautiful (sometimes gaudy) beach houses and hotel strips.  There are local eateries speckling the coast, their sea-inspired monikers and decor welcoming vacationers and locals alike. Of course, there are the cheesy beach shops offering all the essentials any beach goer may desire, but there are also eclectic small businesses with a treasure trove of handmade goods, farmers markets bursting with fresh produce, meats, sauces, jams, jellies, and even wines and craft beer.
The Outer Banks is definitely a place I'd like to return to again and again.
