Family's 'Field Of Dreams' Touches Off Controversy
DANVILLE -- One family's field of dreams -- built without town permits or approval in a tony Danville neighborhood -- is being called a nightmare by neighbors waging a campaign to make the $300,000 sports facility disappear.
The Little League baseball diamond constructed this year by David and Connie Lowe in the hills next to their estate includes lights, Astroturf and a 14-foot fence.
"We're trying to have a place for our children to safely play," said David Lowe, 47, on Monday. "We didn't do this for our own profit or anything like that."
