(no subject)
Recap of life at the moment: busy doing much of nothing.
Back home. Took a vacation. Saw some of the country on my own dime and my own time that I've always wanted to drive on my own. Proved mostly to myself that I can survive that much alone time in a car. Drove through rain, slush, hail, and snow. It was great. I'm ready to go again.
Almost just moved on the spot and lived out of a suitcase temporarily. Would have had it not been for the mounds of paperwork awaiting me at home.
Conquered the taxes finally. That was the task that made me ignore everyone since I've been home. No birthday dinner for me since I was "punishing" myself for not having the taxes done. Did them all. Agonized. Finished and then found out I could've saved days of work by filing online since I qualified. Spent less than 20 mins entering in my data to get the same result that I got through the 8 pages of forms I filled out manually. Kind of good to know that I did it right..but GEEZ!
So now I can relax. Clean my car out from the near month I was gone. Clean my room up..get things back in order. And then I can start assembling my records for this year's taxes because I'll be DAMNED if I have to sit and do that all at once again. I need to keep up with all that stuff monthly and it will save me days later on and maybe even a little more money as well.
Much thanks to all the birthday mentions on LJ, the IMs and the surprise visits..(even if I had to do your taxes for you!). One more year to go and then I can rent cars from huge corporations and rack up their mileage for cheap!
But for now..time to clean my room up a bit..store away all the tax documents for posterity and get to celebrate by taking a shower!
