I've been keeping a real journal. It's great because I can doodle and tape stuff to it. I can't really do that to my computer.

The EC season 2 has started and I'm glad to be here. I'm still a peon to the brick oven ristorante. My classes this semester are going to make me think more, they're going to make me work more, and they're going to take a lot of time. I'm taking a statistics course, critical inquiry (english), american politics (I think it will be just like AP Gov), and a physio psych class on the bases of behavior. Friends here are great. I wish I was closer with the people I spent time with the first few weeks of school. It's hard to balance things and still have time for hangin' out and relaxing. I'm going to try to make an attempt to reconnect with these faces like I do for homework, like I do for showers, like I do for NPR.

I learned to play monopoly the other night. I did come in last place but I absorbed the rules and strategies so get ready to be bankrupt.

I gave up drinking soda for good. I also have traded drinking coffee with getting ample sleep but let's see how long this lasts.

On Friday Ryan surprised me and drove down from Vermont to spend time with me. I already have a Greyhound ticket to go to Burlington next weekend and the unexpected visit was incredible. His mom baked me chocolate chip cookies. We danced to Broken Social Scene. This weekend perfectly proved that state lines don't mean shit.

There is an Ariel sticker on my laptop. I can't stop smiling.

I'm at a musical capstone.  I highly suggest some of these groups get checked out (or if you're familiar with them a more serious listen):
wilco, neutral milk hotel, the deftones, sigur ros, barrington levy, the arcade fire, duke ellington, aesop rock, hem, frank zappa, medeski (scofield) martin and wood, omar a. rodriguez-lopez, ben kweller, m. ward,  handsome boy modeling school, and phish. Networking with people about music and the give and take of bands and artists is one of my favorite things about college.
