Writer's Block: So Long, Farewell

I just want to say I am NOT a Bush hater...like so many people are. I went through about 3 pages of the Writer's Block answers & didn't see one good thing. I don't think he'll be remembered, per say, for a good thing...but people should have more respect for him. He did his job the way he saw fit and to the best of his ability. I just always got

I don't think a person should automatically get respect just because of a title he/she has. You should get respect for what you do and/or say.

I agree, somewhat. But I do think he's earned respect. If you're elected 2 terms in a row, you deserve respect. People just love to point out the bad, but he did a lot of good. Especially after the circumstances he's been under.

My friends & I were talking about the Bush scapegoat thing on Saturday night. It's not his fault the economy is the way it is, but people need somebody to blame & who's in charge? The President. The same thing happened here in California back in 2003 when Gray Davis was recalled. As a state, we've never really been out of the red, so when thing started getting worse, we needed somebody to blame.

He wasn't even a bad governer. Now we've got Arnold Schwarzenegger & California is getting IOUs instead of tax returns!
