When my parents said "expect a surprise," I thought they meant they were bringing the dog with them on their trip down to NB. What they really meant by surprise was "SURPRISE! It's 2001 Chevy Cavalier!" Timing couldn't be more perfect. With an impending NB transit strike and with teacher's college right around the corner, a car is the most perfect and thoughtful gift from the most perfect and thoughtful parents. Their surprise plan was so elaborate: My mom, Dee, Noah, and the girls show up at my door around 5pm and proceed to tell me that my dad stayed behind because of a Dentist appointment. An hour later my dad appears out of nowhere - he "found a ride with Randy." I'm rushed out the door on the way to supper and in the parking lot is the new baby with my C&C parking pass hanging in the rear view. It took me way too long to catch on, but in no way did I wake up Friday morning expecting to be a car owner!
-I'll be taking actual pictures later this week-
I'll have to save up to add air conditioning and a tape player, or cd player, but I can live without those luxuries as long as I can get from point A to point B without losing any needed appendages. Everyone is gone now, but today was great. My dad came over at 9am to bring me and Dee (and Noah) for breakfast @ The Magic Kettle. Then, I went to the hotel to help with the check out and the rest of the day was spent at the mall so the goons could spend what was left of their Christmas money. Before the day was done I even found time to drop off my laundry at the wash&fold on King. As soon as I publish this post I'm going head to head with my Ancient Civ. paper--my goal is, at least, four pages. Tomorrow I'm meeting with Rob to work on our presentation and I'm hoping to hear about how everything went at Middle Finger Response- Chad's playing a show there tonight. I have a feeling he's going to kick ass. Alright! cleaning then essay!
PS: I have a car. and my dad and I met a very entertaining intoxicated middle-aged man at the mall this afternoon. Lets just say, if I get sick of this dump I have someone to live with.
