This is a conversation between me an a good friend..... :=me
: a good old nuclear war or revolt is definitly in order
: it's been 40 years since apollo
: we should have a Moon Hilton
JE: Emanuel Goldstein is the only reason modern governments do anything that doesn't turn a profit in the portfolios of elected and appointed officials
: ?
JE: and Terrorism isn't the type of Emmanuel Goldstein that science is looking for
JE: 1984
JE: read it
: yeah
: sorry, suck with names
: and references in literature
JE: no problem, its a moderately obscure reference
JE: i don't believe in much
: have worn out the cover on my copy of 1984
JE: but I believe in Emmanuel Goldstein
: yeah
: governmental control nonwithstanding
: we as ourselves need to decide how willing we are as a group to take the responsibilty of the future seriously
: only then can we effectivly circumvent the current regime
: modern politics will no longer provide an effective deterrent towards governmental control on individuals, as seen in the supreme court desision to remove your property rights
: you no longer "own" property, the governement owns it
: and can take it away for any reason, including so-called "economic development"
: so, the only way that our forebears were able to escape that situation was to expand themselves to a distant frontier, and then cut themselves off from the body politic
JE: yeah the constitution I swore to uphold is being gang raped by Texas Pete and Uncle Buck
JE: yet this is gang rape that i cannot defend against
: with the state of moder technology, with things in the imagination like the world of "ghost in the shell" and 1984 not far away, we can either stay and reinforce the current socio-economic political regime, or divorce ourselves from it completely
JE: an autonomous organization is now necessary to protect people from their own stupidity and ignorance
JE: "Hatred for Humanity...because we care"
: then you have 2 options available, being ground into dust by the machinations of that regime, while trying to fend off attacks on imagined freedoms the way the NRA does, the NORML folks, or drop the pretense of freedom and become a consumer
JE: i love that slogan though dude
: by and large, the population falls into 3 catagories, Lemmings 85%, those people who cannot make desisions by themselves
: 10% , Radicals
JE: i think i'm going to start that .org just so i can have people see that fascist banner
: those who realize that something is wrong, but don't think independantly of the current group thinking
: and 5% Individual Thinkers
: Those who actually start new lines of thinking, and are aware that there are other options for them to live by
: you are in the latter catagory
: as is D and others I know who I have cultivated friendship with
: but that is the state of affairs, the old addage: too many chiefs and not enough indians is realistic enough
: you need the 85% to uphold society
JE: nay
: those who can't think for themselves
JE: its the goddamn peons that are letting all this shit happen
JE: Eternal Vigilance is the price of Freedom
JE: and we have forgotten that
JE: several decades ago we forgot
: without them, people like carl sagan and stephen hawking would be trash-men and busboys
: yes, but it is those people who can think for themselves that are in fact destroying what we would call freedom
: that is their agenda
: look at the power the entertainment media in this world holds sway
: and that cadre of media is run by just a handfull of powerful men
: do you think that if something was really possible to change people's thinking towards vigilance in protecting freedom, that you'd actually see that on 60minutes?
: you never will
: because those who really hold the power have decided to keep joe 6-pack distracted by football and baseball and by equal-rights and other less important issues
: if things did change, they would lose their power to distract the average person, and they would turn off the tv and look around
: and all- hell would break loose
: reality TV is the current shape of the ball-gag placed in the mouth of the group-politic to keep them distracted from the painfull anal rape of their freedoms
: and it works
: as long as the tv's are on, and the fridge is full, the average person in the group won't care how much freedom they give up
JE: sad but true
: and that leaves a small minority of people with good values without the group-support necessary to effect change
: have you ever wondered why the US continues to subsidize Israel
: ?
: because the man who ownes 85% of the news and informtion media is the son of the leader of the World Jewish Congress, a policy making body in Israel
JE: i'm aware but lets keep that topic off of channels that can be read by the MI ait students 3 blocks away
: and the News controls who gets elected
: because if joe 6-pack really connected with the thought that there are at least 33 different parties on the ballot, their votes might sway towards the libritarians, or the socialists, or even the nazis or communists.
: but you don't see those canidates on the news, you see bush vs gore
: the republicans vs the democrats
: the political shell game that has left this country bitching over this polititian or another instead of seeing the real issues for what they are
: and for realizing that the president is not as powerful as he seems
: in reality, if you aren't in the military, the president really has little influence on your daily life, but ask just literally anyone who they voted for for sherriff, for local representititve, or for state office
: and the'll say, I voted for BUSH!
: and no one else
: but the local city council has more of a direct effect on what goes on in your life, your local taxes, how your children are educated, on your roads, on how safe you are at night
: what businesses are allowed to operated, and how they are operated, what kind of house you can own, what car you can drive, and how much you pay for food
JE: *livejournal post*
: sorry for ranting
