In just under a month's time, I've seen two places central to my life story be destroyed: the house I grew up in in Covina - which was my family's home for 32 years - has been gutted and altered beyond recognition, and the commercial building in Eureka where I started my retail business in 1999 razed completely to the ground ( Read more... )

sheesh.. sorry to hear of it... :| ... Did you just happen to be randomly checking?
Maybe every few years I'll wonder about an old place I was too, like a school or residence or workplace....

Some months ago, I found out via Zillow that the house had sold last year, so I thought I'd drive by next time I was in town and see what was going on at the old place. I thought I might not like what I saw, but I went anyway. Suffice it to say, it was way worse than I imagined. I'll probably write that post this weekend. I really want to get it out of the way. I'm growing weary of dwelling on it.
