My last cassette player died last night, alas. Actually, it wasn't even a proper cassette deck, just an old boom box connected to my receiver by its headphone jack. As close as I am to the end of my own life span, I briefly considered not bothering to get another cassette player, but I still have mix tapes I like to listen to every once in a while, not to mention recordings of my parents' voices, and I wouldn't want to lose my ability to hear those again. So I found a nice, newly-refurbished Sony component deck for a hundred bucks. I mean, why not? What else am I going to spend that kind of money on that won't be gone even sooner? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's not like I'm consuming resources buying a brand new one, either. YOLO!
