I come here alot, so I guess the real 'novelty' has long since worn off...but I love this place. I can't think of another foreign country I'd be willing to spend about a year at. Also...less dangerous than it sounds like on TV :) I'd recommend it, most people here know English too.
You're going to GW, right? Excited?
Hahaha, we can just not talk about it, I have trouble seeing him as anything but the annoying idiot I love :D
I remember that you make frequent trips to Israel from your earlier posts. And despite it not actually being that dangerous, my school doesn't do study abroad there and there's no way that my parents would let me go, so until I'm living on my own, it's pretty much a no-go. When I told my parents I wanted to take a trip to Israel, my mom was like, "I thought you wanted to go to Paris D:" and then I kind of hoped that, if I ever do go back to Paris, I get hit by a bus just to spite her. But then I realized that being hit by a bus would be painful.
Your memory is impressive. I am going to GW, and I am excited. :D I leave tomorrow. Which is kind of frightening because I have absolutely nothing packed. I guess it'll get done sometime today.
I will just silently appreciate him if you ever post more photos.
Wow--that's a big jump, and not one many people would dare to imagine.
I was miserably homesick until I saw home once (and then wanted to be back at school!); it seemed to be the same for a lot of people. So if homesickness really becomes a sickness, hang in there for March.
It's pretty common around these parts actually. There are tons of American/European schools here for the gap year between high school and college.
I'm hoping it'll go away as soon as I get used to being here, and get more familiar with the other girls here. Only been here since Sunday, so it's still part of the adjustment period I think.
