A quick shout and writing updates. ;)
I know, been forever but wanted to drop by and say a quick hello. I’m honestly not sure if anyone is still on LiveJournal, but thought I’d give it a try. *waves*
Anyways, as some may be following, I'm wrapping up After the Fall. Right now there are only three chapters left, I posted one about two weeks ago? Something like that…in my old age forgetting dates. The big thing is I started my first Alternate Universe story as part of a challenge. It was an old idea I’d thought of/started about 2003. It’s also ironic, as the whole gist is Rinoa has to testify against a drug dealer and Squall is the FBI agent assigned to her until trial. Then she starts her new life in witness protection as someone new. The ironic thing is, when I first started it, I never knew I’d end up having to testify in a trial about a drug dealer. I think when it comes to the trial/testifying thing it will be a little harder because of what I went through in real life, but maybe I could use some of those emotions in my writing.
The AU (The Meaning of Resistance) is being written as an extension of the "Where I Belong" challenge, which honestly had an amazing turn out. We had a total of 129 submissions (it says 128, need to change it!) and I believe there were 57 participants. SummonerLuna is being awesome and putting a book together, I’ll give you the details.
As for this challenge, it’s still open so join - darn it. It’s actually an offshoot called “Where I Belong: Inspired.” This was for all the people who needed a little more time so they could write longer stories. Honestly, it’s also for us mods and/or those involved that didn’t have the abilities to write as much as we’d like, so this is our second chance. Again, anyone can join - it’s much, much smaller; there are six of us, but we're here to support one another.
The concept is along the lines of National Novel Writing month, but again on a personal scale and we start at goals of 20k and go to 50k plus add a few extra weeks of work time. I want to give those people taking part a special shoot-out below, so copying the list from ffnet. Please be sure to check out their stories, read, review and if you want we're looking for people to do any art/graphics or covers for them.
Oh, before I forget before those who draw, don't forget to stop by "Chocobo, Cactuars, and Mogs" a DeviantART community for those who love the critters from Final Fantasy. It's just for fun, but October is a Halloween theme. We'll do something for November and December - the idea is next year to do a calendar and/or digital calendar. It would be rather awesome. ;)
