I loved this book, but I'm completely baffled as to how to describe it. I'm not even sure I can properly describe this book or what it's about.  Mostly it seems to be about a war between old gods and new gods in America for their existence because, as is often repeated in the story, America is not a country for gods.  Americans tend to disbelieve or trivialize gods (even those they claim to worship) so that the gods ( Read more... )

These must be the dog days of Summer because I am definitely feeling dogged out, dog tired and pretty much like the hound dog that lies on the porch and doesn't move for days on end.  And it's not even that hot yet.

Truly enjoyed this collection of short stories from Butcher's Dresdenverse, and I was delighted (maybe relieved is more like it) that he let the reader know at what point in the series each story was taking place and lined them up chronologically.  A very nice gift for the anal reader.  And, altho this has nothing to do with the stories, I was very ( Read more... )
