went to the swing dance last night. the entire situation is rather amusing. i got a ticket yesterday morning before chapel, and here's my summary of how:

I can sympathize with the thing about the tickets. I remember when the Sisters of Mercy (how does this relate? It does) were playing in Ft. Lauderdale in 1999, it was the night of the show, and I did not buy tickets

yeah. high school had it's ups and downs. O_o it was okay (it was better later on, when the guy who made my life miserable got kicked out. i feel kinda bad for him, though...) but i have no desire to go back.

yeah, I feel the same way. At my age, people would start to wonder if I had some sort of mental disorder if I was 11 years late in terms of academic development. :)
I'd ask why he made your life miserable, but that's none of my business. We all had our nemeses in High School, but they are better forgotten.
not a problem--i'm generally curious myself =)asearielOctober 24 2004, 20:42:23 UTC
he was the leader of the band of kids who made fun of people. i was their favorite target because i didn't fight back, and i didn't tell any of the teachers (they never really DID anything to me). i just took it. occasionally i'd answer a question any of them put to me, but it never really helped

Sounds like you had a fun evening, even if you were kinda "babysitting." You have managed to go to at least one more dance in college than I did (which was none, unless you count my fraternity parties, which were more efforts at us trying to look like we knew how to drink and talk to girls -- we knew neither!).
it's my second swing dance of college. this one was okay, despite the weirdness, but i liked the first one better. i'd probably have more fun if i actually knew how to swing dance...
both dances and fraternity events-- I tended to fear getting beaten to a soggy pulp by angry jocks-- so I went to clubs the whole time and simply avoided the social scene. This only worked in my favor once; I was so socially ostracized by my appearance then that I decided to run for student union president on the basis that every single person knew my face and my nickname, bestowed upon me by large jocks who made the only dark reference they could think of.... so "vote for Joe the Crow" actually became a title worthy of exploitation.
"Joe the Crow?!" O_o that's awesome! ^_^asearielOctober 24 2004, 20:45:39 UTC
my school lacks fraternities and sororities. *shrugs* and last year was the first dance we ever had. there were news crews. O_o you'd think they'd have something better to do. i guess not.
Well, at least it's nice to know that you've found another guy who will dance, whether he knows how or not. And you say that guys like that are impossible to find.
