Well, I was hoping for better than that, though it could've been worse.
I was sort of right about the "Dirty Girls"/"Seeing Red" gore/trauma thing. I've always wonder what happens if a BtVS Vampires is maimed. In the movie "Blade"
Donal Logue (the dad on "Grounded for Life") , kept getting his arm cut off and kept having it grow back. I suppose it doesn't happen in the Buffyverse. But makes me wonder why we haven't seen at least one maimed Vampire (or have we? BtVS 1.04 "Teacher's Pet").
I spotted the credit at the begin of the show, but no matter. I didn't care that some of the jokes were stale and recycled, I didn't care that some of it was obnoxious. If I saw him every week again that'd be another story and make his appearance so/so, but I don't. I like Andrew period.
I liked the whole Slayer-pimp thing too. However, if you've got an army of Slayers ready to go, why outsource to W&H? Well, we get a few Andrew tid-bits so that's nifty. Of course the BtVS references were good too. I also like "double-cross". If I think W&H is evil, it's because it makes the show weak.
hmm ... dark haired psycho-slayer, this seems familiar. Are we trying to top someone. Someone who should've had their own show, perhaps someone who ignored their tru calling (sorry I can't spell I accidentally left the e off of true)? Oh well ...
I was onboard with the thing when they said Spike killed the family and tortured the girl, but another bait and switch is annoying.
Where's Lindsey? He isn't stupid, well he wasn't back in the day. He could have made an episode just a tad better.
Though at the beginning of the episode there was a team huddle the characters were talking to each other and their personality wasn't turned so far down (like usual). Remember characters and 3 dimensions?
This was watch-able, but not much better. These were veteran Whedon-type writers, what did they do? Take them aside and say "Hey you know how you're good at writing characters, well don't try so hard this time. You'll make the show inaccessible to new viewers."{eye-roll}.
If all this is going on and Joss doesn't produce "Firefly: the motion picture" I'm going to be terribly disappointed.
Angel is currently comparable to Smallville, that's quite sad.
As usual I didn't see the trailer, though I saw the ticker thing or whatever, spilling next week's secret if there is one. Don't tell me I already know, and if I don't maybe there is some surprise left to be had, though it's doubtful.
