Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, and best wishes. Here's an update on my health:
Apparently, I was getting stressed out and overworking, forgetting to take care of myself. Though I was a bit more vigilant about my sleep patterns, I wasn't being responsive to my dietary needs. Sometimes I forget that, during times of stress, the body burns more calories as a result of the "fight or flight" response. Due to this, my body burned through the vitamins/minerals too quickly. Also, when I first started on this program, I was sure to regulate my diet by having about six small meals every day, separated by two to four hours. This was meant to force me to eat more healthfully and help maintain my metabolism throughout the day. Unfortunately, I got so caught up in the stresses of daily life that I stopped regulating my eating patterns. It wasn't that I was skipping meals; I was just varying the frequency between meals, sometimes waiting more than five hours between lunch and dinner. This was most harmful to my health and probably the major underlying cause of my problems in the past weeks.
In sum, here are immediate and direct resolutions to make sure this doesn't happen again:
1) Eat six small meals every day, maintaining the proper frequency of at least two hours but no more than four hours between each meal.
2) Adjust vitamin/mineral consumption as my moods dictate.
3) Regulate my sleep patterns a bit more, aiming to wake up at the same time every day as not to disrupt my eating and dosing frequencies.
4) Don't work all the time and try not to take too much work home with me, and this includes anxieties in addition to actual work.
Here are some long-term goals that I'll try to incorporate into my life as I continue to find a better balance:
1) Have more fun!
2) See friends more often.
3) Start exercising again.
4) Resume daily meditation.
5) Write for myself more often.
6) Continue to read for pleasure.
7) Continue to watch movies and listen to music.
8) Spend more time appreciating nature by going on evening walks and relaxing outside, at least until winter is here.
Please do me a huge favor and refer to this post if it seems like I'm not doing well again. Remind me of these healthy resolutions that are now even more imperative to my well-being. Thank you!
