5x12

I was one of those who don't follow boybands religiously, or hardly paid attention to group idols. Thought I should pass that stage of being interested in pretty faces until I know what they're capable of. I was also one of those who would've been immediately turned off and thought they were 'overrated' if those artist/idols can't sing, dance, or even act well. I downloaded just for the music.

Then a little over a year ago, these boys happened. (yeah yeah, late comer) Because I was hit rock bottom at school, and for some reason I decided to check out Yamada Taro since kyraensui talked about it. And then for Fanime10, I still remember very well the first thing hellmaster05 did was drag me in and load the Shukudai-kun up for me to watch and went "at least you know Nino and Sho, right?" And then the rest is history of marathoning their shows, dramas, lives, etc.

I slowly got to know who they are from scratch and learning to love them, not even knowing they were at their peak of popularity. I got into them purely cuz my friends spammed their stuff at me. My older cousin once asked me "Why do people buy the CDs when you can download the songs?" Well, here's the answer (that I didn't get a chance to answer): "Because it's more than just about the songs or the product; it makes me happy to know I was able to support them as a fan. It's my way of saying 'thank you' for being here."

These boys aren't the most talented singers, actors; they aren't even by the entertainment industry-standard the 'hottest' out there. But they excel in everything else - things that aren't idol-like. They are capable of making something fresh out of the simplest things in life, they fool around and successfully make us laugh, and they are humble and work their hardest. They aren't afraid to show their flaws to us. While most idols present themselves as being the ideals, these boys close the gap by showing us they're just like us. They make us smile and touch our hearts with their bond, friendship. More than idols, they feel like friends we'll have forever.

12 years ago, they debuted in the most random ways possible in Hawaii, and because of their bond and hard work, they thrived and got to where they are today. A, thank you for your smiles and energy and endless ideas to make us laugh and feel happy. M, thank you for being the heartthrob, honesty and passion of the group and make sure everyone does their best. N, thank you for your acting, music, insights, and being the first to defend and making sure that the group stays together. O, thank you for your artistic talents and for being the silent leader who steps in when the group needs it the most. S, thank you for being the mother figure of the group and for inspiring with your endless strive to learn and educate.

After over a year, I am thankful for them, for being a fan, thankful all I had done to show it, even thankful for new friends I've met because of Arashi. Love you boys. All I can say is
Happy 5x12 Anniversary, Arashi! ♥

Please stay as you are and forever be the rainbow that makes us smile. Endless amount of ありがとう for you.
