2012

A bit late, but oh well, time to reflect on the last year and on this new year was short. Here were my goals/resolutions from last year:

1.) Finish my Japanese Studies Master
2.) Find a good new job
3.) Before that go to Japan for a nice long vacation
4.) Udine Far East Film Festival!
5.) Possibly Tasmania this autumn?
6.) Upload a total of 1000 pictures for sale
7.) Get better with my photography
8.) Loose some weight, 3-5kg would be nice

Number 1 is thankfully done and over. Number 2 was quite impossible due to the Tohoku earthquake. So far not a single good Japan/Japanese related job has popped up, so I'm back in the travel industry but keeping my eyes open. Number 3 worked out quite nicely except for the Tohoku earthquake and a stomach flue (both on the same day). Udine was a go, but a friend we wanted to meet there didn't make it. Tasmania didn't happen as I just had started working then and we god two young kittens as well. Number 6 and 7, don't make me laugh (or cry). I did sell my first picture though, that's something, right?

Now number 8 though, sigh. I did work hard on for a few months with the Wii Active Trainer software and I did feel the results, even if I did not really see much of a change weight-wise. But then came summer and then came work and whatever I gained is lost again. I can't really find the strength to get up early and train or to train after work. I want to start up again, even if it's only once a week on the weekend, but well... I'm slowly moving into the unhealthy zone. More like creeping into it, but it feels unstoppable somehow.

So here are my resolutions/wishes for this year:

1.) Please no end of the world. There's still so much I want to do!
2.) Loose weight and try to eat healthier.
3.) Loose stuff and I really mean this. I'd like to keep track of things I buy and things I get rid off and make sure that I get rid of more stuff than I buy. I have so much stuff accumulated from my time and travels in Japan and I need to get rid of them. I'm living among boxes, my cupboards are full. I want to move from quantity to quality and get rid of things I don't care for anymore.
4.) Sort the stuff I want to keep and arrange it in a way that I can find it! That includes especially all my travel related material which is all over the place.
5.) Keep working at my travel blog, my writing, my photography to make it a place that people actually go to (as it's under my real name and in German I won't post it here, but if you're interested, just send me a PM).
6.) Find a better job.
7.) Read more and I don't mean on the internet!
8.) Make one more vacation with my s.o. this year and go to Japan (goal this year: Ogasawara islands) possible in March/April.

There are other things that I'm thinking about. For example going solo (i.e. work wise) with one project or another, but right now I'm not that deperate yet. There has to be a decent job out there, right? I don't really like switching companies every 1-2 years! Looks bad on the C.V. as well!

Important for my own personal wellfare though is to get rid of surplus stuff. I'm sinking in it, emotionally and literally!

work, life
