And I just got my hair cut, too
Well, it's been long enough since I last posted that there's actually a fair bit of interesting stuff to report. I'll start off with a notice about the future: I'll be in the USA from December 16th to January 6th, so if you want to see me please send me the details of when and where you'll be available so I can start making plans.
Now back to November. I got to Nagano just in time to enjoy the effects of a bit of underdone chicken I'd had the weekend before. It was pretty unpleasant and it lasted about two weeks and I'll just leave it at that. On top of which, I had arrived in town with no apartment and no job. A friend was kind enough to let me stay at his place for the three weeks it took me to find a place. My new apartment is pretty sweet but fuck are the move-in costs high here.
And after a few weeks wandering around town in my suit I managed to find a job, too, working at a small English conversation school. It's just part time for now, but the salary is pretty fair. I'm also still looking into other options, full time and otherwise. for next year. Everything hinges on getting my visa renewed in March.
Also, the Japanese Proficiency Test was yesterday. I'd been studying pretty hard for the past couple of weeks and I'm pretty sure I passed. The results come out in February so I'll let you know.
I guess that's about it. Some of my friends have expressed interest in when I'll be back home for good. I'm not sure of that myself. Right now I'm leaning towards spending another year here, but who can say. Regardless, I have no intention of returning without first lining up either a decent job or a slot in grad school.
