I'm taking a break from studying Biol 404 Cell Physiology (2 lectures in 4 hours... slowly but surely). I'm at the Vista cafe in the Genome sciences building, which I think has officially become a favorite place to study. Large open windows let in lots of sunlight and exhibit a view of the gorgeous Lake Washington. Chairs are functional yet economically ergonomic (ie. conducive to studying) and there are booths with comfortable cushions for the bony-buttocked. The Vista cafe itself offers healthy foods (a definite PLUS) and coffee (I already love it), and has outlets situated in well-spaced sites around the eating area. Very clean, very new architecture. PLUS, no crazy undergrads! I mostly see grad students and faculty in this place (and I look like one with my non-form fitting sweater and practical sneakers), and there's just enough people in this area to create the constant murmuring I need in the study environment.
I constantly need new places to study all the time, so this is a welcome change to the finals week. I found this place after attending a required seminar in the genome sciences building. I'm glad I took the chance to take a detour to this place. :) (instead of going to Odegaard or Suzzallo, which are either too crowded or too quiet a study environment)
