EDIT: I guess I should mention, this has SPOILERS.
I got up early (my alarm set for 6:50 am!) and everything to catch the premiere of Transwarped, first episode of the (finally!) third season of TF:A. I then found my dad sleeping up in the game room for some reason, so I had to embarrasingly wake him up and ask him to move so I could watch my show. Cue questions as to whether or not I'm "regressing". >.>
But! It was all so totally worth it - a million bazillion times over. OH MY GOD! It was quite possibly the best 1 1/2 hours of Transformers I have seen (not counting the 2007 movie), and I loved every second of it. I don't think there was a single scene I wasn't ridiculously pleased about. Where to begin?
Strika, Spittor, Blackout, and OMG CYCLONUS (<3) were absolutely perfect. Also, I was so not expecting Oilslick to join the fray! I thought he wasn't going to appear outside of the comic? (I may have read about him appearing, but I guess I forgot.) Nonetheless, I am thoroughly stoked about him and hope we see more of his cosmic rust. That was one epic battle. Also, I am in love with Rodimus's energon bow & arrows. Hot Shot was suitably confident and adorable - I love that they modeled him off his Armada self, as I always loved those colors. And Red Alert - AAAH! That is one fine femme - but wait, did she just die??!?? I really want to know what happened to all of them. It would make me sad to see them introduced only to watch them get systematically eliminated for good like they appear to have been.
Speaking of dieing... Blurr, I know I've said this before, but I ADORE YOU ENDLESSLY! His whole interaction with the two Starscream clones was hilarious; I loved the shot of him pinging off the space debris into the distance. xD But then... Shockwave. Oh you dastardly mother fucker. Arguably my favorite Transformer of all times, but damn, you sure know how to be utterly evil. Crushing Blurr into a little cube and then having the "sensitive material" disposed of by a comrade?? AGH! pleasepleaseplease don't let Blurr be permanently dead... That said, I think Shockwave may be getting a little hot under his non-existent collar, there. Definitely wasn't his most, erm, eloquent and smooth manipulations of the Autobot council. Sooner or later, they will catch on, and I look forward to that day - if only because then we can see Shockwave be even more insanely menacing and badass. xD
Megatron and Starscream never fail to make me lol. xD The latter's newfound, um, power? Give a whoooole new meaning to the name "Starscream". I hope he enjoyed his time in Omega Supreme the spotlight! Sure seemed like he did! Of course, give that it's the Screamer, it was destined to not work out. Megatron, however, proved himself to be ever the calculating villain - trying to convince Omega to transport him to Cybertron because it was "his duty" to deliver him to justice? Brilliant. Even though it didn't work. ;D <3s to you, Megs! We all know you'll be back.
Bumblebee's little trip across the galaxy was hilarious. Bulkhead's corresponding opportunity to (somewhat) shine against Headmaster-ized Starscream body? Pure awesome. Speaking of, I enjoyed the whole subplot of Headmaster-scream seeking vengeance on Sumdac. It was nice to see the Autobots kicks some aft for once! I seriously lol'd at the failure to transform.
Speaking of subplot... Sari, how is it that you just keep getting cooler by the second?? I love you to pieces! I've been anticipating like crazy the exploration of Sari's apparently mechanical origin... and it was handled beautifully. A protoform (lol at Prowl's sneaking around)? Yessssss! They posed a good question, though: just how did a protoform get in Sumdac's lab?? I adore her "upgrade", though (the working one, not out-of-control Sari, although that was fun). The design is fantastic. Also, Sari and Bumblebee are always insanely cute together, and this episode certainly delivered on that aspect. *squee*
What am I forgetting?? I feel like I had more to say, but it must have slipped my mind after I went back to bed (and had a dream about Waspinator, coincidentally). Well, if it comes back to me, I'll write more about the epic win of Transwarped. xD Seriously, I can think of no better way to describe it other than with a phrase I came across recently: a heaping helping of awesome sauce on top of some very cool beans!
[EDIT] OH YES! HOW COULD I FORGET PERCEPTOR AND WHEELJACK??? Seriously, I have no words for the awesome. And I am reminded of how I was just telling Erin that I reeeaaaalllyyy hope we get to see them in the show and not just the comic. AND MY WISH CAME TRUE! Perceptor's voice was interesting; it surprised me at first, but now I think it fits quite well. *insert more fangirling liek woah*
Also, Ratchet and Omega Supreme won my heart all over again. <3333s
Is it next Saturday yet???
