Thought I'd post my thoughts on the TF:A season 2 finale, which aired on YTV in Canada this past Saturday - TransformersFan has it up on YouTube, for those curious, and it airs on CN in the US this Saturday! For my friends who want to avoid spoilers, I will simply say that even though I could not resist watching it Saturday night (it would have been torture!!), I will be all over that shit come Saturday, July 5th. I'm hoping CN is smart enough to NOT cut off the credits (and thus the epilogue of the episode) like YTV did... ugh. DON'T MISS IT, GUYS! IT IS MADE OF AWESOME AND EPIC WIN! (ALSO EPIC FAIL, ON SCREAMER'S PART.)
First off, thank Primus for YouTube! I think I would have spontaneously combusted if I had to wait for the weekend. @_@ Now for my thoughts...
BLURRBLURRBLURRBLURRBLURR!!!!! *fangirl flail* Holy crap, he was so freakin' awesome and fantastic and awesometastic and WIN! :D If there was anything in this episode that made me happy, then it was him! (And many, many <3s to Burton for returning to voice him. GAH so perfect!)
Speaking of fast 'bots, I was completely taken off-guard when Bee admitted out loud that he wasn't "the fastest thing on wheels". Woah! And then he finds out that he sent an innocent 'bot to prison and was friends with a Decepticon... I'm hoping this leads to some nice character development in season 3 that moves him beyond the over-eager, loud-mouthed bot he's been so far.
Starscream and company - loved them and hated them at the same time. I wish they'd either a) given the clones more rounded personalities that fit with what their color schemes implied to be their G-1 counterparts or b) killed them off to make room for the actual G-1!seekers. But I have to admit that I loved egotistical!Screamer and brown-nose!Screamer. XD The way the latter was going on about it being such an "honor" to fight Omega Supreme cracked me up! And whoever mentioned that the femmescream totally hints that Starscream has always wanted to be a girl - LOL! That's so going in my crack!canon from now on. (Already knew he was the slut of the bunch, teehee.) But more seriously, I like the thought that she may represent Starscream's self-loathing; or perhaps just the part of himself that is actually in touch with reality.
Bulkhead is a genius! I knew it! But I'm a bit depressed to see that nobody seems to be able to realize it (or are refusing to do so). The poor guy is so underappreciated by his friends and enemies alike. At least Megatron acknowledged his skill in space bridges! (And how ironic is that?) This episode made my Bulkhead-love grow exponentially, yet again.
Omega Supreme kicks all shades, shapes, and sizes of ass! I cannot wait to see the figure for this guy. And he's ridiculously cute, with his "I am ginormous but gentle and protective"-voice - and him and Ratchet? SO OTPING THAT SHIT LIKE CRAZY! ;_; I hope he didn't die when he went through the space bridge... him and Blurr are too cool to not bring back somehow!
Prowl's ninja-bot antics = WIN! Here's to hoping we get some backstory on him next season.
HOLY CRAP SARI!! *tears hear out at cliff-hanger* AUGH why do they do this to us?? I'd heard speculation about this on other TF forums, but I never expected it to actually happen in the show! She's gotta be a cyborg, though - unless they've managed to come up with the technology that allows a robot to take sustenance from human food and drink. I guess this explains why in the "Home Alone" episode, she was able to take those hits from Prowl's obstacle course... I was wondering about that! Gah, I can hardly wait to see how Sumdac explains this one...
Overall, a pretty good episode! Like everybody else, I'm pissed at YTV for cutting off the credits and cheating us out of our Megs-Screamer snark. But the battles were great; the humor was satisfyingly amusing; OMEGA SUPREME AND BLURR ('nuff said)... and it set up season 3 nicely. I'm thinking that with Megs and Starscream stuck in space, we'll be seeing Shockwave take the helm, especially since the Autobots can now contact the Elite Guard and out "Longarm" as the spy that he is.
