1. Buy Quinn some new shoes before he really can't wear the old ones anymore. Uh...perhaps this should have been done last week. Oops! Hopefully this one will be done today - some spiffy sandals from
Preschoolians.
2. Figure out when to go to Boston to see
sabriel_0405,
fragileflower6, and my sister (I have more people to see in Boston, too, but these are the definite priority for this week!). Hopefully this will be tomorrow. It's supposed to be very very hot, but strolling through Boston on a hot and sticky day sounds more appealing to me than shoveling mulch.
3. And speaking of mulch - move the big pile from the driveway to all of the places that it's supposed to go. So far 6 trailer-fulls (the trailer for the tractor, which fortunately doubles as a garden cart since the tractor is in the shop right now!) done since Thursday, and the pile hardly looks scratched. Unfortunately this job also entails a LOT of weeding, nasty weeds that poke and sting.
4.Avoid coming into contact with whatever weed to which I am apparently allergic. I've been wearing gauze on my right arm for a couple of days just so that I don't try to scratch my arm off (and I chopped off all my fingernails, too!). I guess it's back to long sleeves for yard work, but it's SOOOOOOO hot right now (well, actually the issue is more the humidity - feels like you're under water)! Maybe Quinn and I will have to run through the sprinkler this afternoon....
5. Find substitute organ/piano players for 4 more Sundays this summer. And finish up a pile of Music Committee business, too....
6. Practice practice practice conducting now that I've had my first lesson, especially since I need to conduct at choir rehearsal tonight and then again on Sunday morning (at least this is the last Sunday before summer vacation for choir!).
7. Get the Prius fixed. This is another today thing. On Friday Eric experienced the weird stalling problem that has recently been announced in the news, but luckily our car started up again (apparently it's a 50/50 shot) so he could drive it home from Framingham. It hasn't been out of the garage since then, so hopefully it will be fine so we can drive it to the dealership today.
8. Find a Fathers Day gift for Eric. Also, wrap gifts for my dad (Fathers Day) and my sister (birthday).
9. Figure out how much to charge for piano lessons and find a curriculum to teach. Oh, and figure out if I actually know anything about teaching piano lessons! July 7 is my first shot at this...more on this later.
10. Go biking. The bike trailer is now hitched to my bike so Quinn and I took our first ride this morning (I went as early as we could and it was still hot and sticky out!). We were out for about 10 minutes, long enough for Quinn to start getting a feel for this thing. He's been in it a few times, but today was the first time that I pulled the cover down over the trailer, and he didn't like that very much. Luckily he settled down as soon as we got on the move, though. I think it will work out well, thought I will have to ride a lot more cautiously than my usual! The book says not to go more than 10 miles an hour, so I know I'll push that a bit, but I also won't be going as fast as usual anyway, since I'm towing a lot more weight! I'm really looking forward to taking rides as many times a week as possible. Hopefully Quinn will like it, too (he seemed to have fun today).
11. Kick this #$#$@*&*$# cold that's been bugging me since we got back from vacation.
12. Get off the computer and go do something useful. Bye!
