Once upon at time, there was a girl. She was happy. Everyone knew it.
That is not this story.
Once upon a time, there was a girl.
That much was true. Only it wasn't too long ago. Just a few weeks.
She was happy. Everyone knew it.
That's what everyone thought. They had no reason to think otherwise. She always acted cheerful, smiling when looked at.
It was only when she wasn't looked at, when no one was around at all, when she let the truth show.
She was tired. She had been falling down, down, down into the depths of despair.
She didn't tell anyone because she didn't want to worry anyone. Why drag them down with her? No, that would do no good.
So the days went happily. Smiling, laughing, joking. She did a damn good job of pretending everything was okay.
Until one day.
It all fell apart.
She fell apart.
She was broken and could not be fix.
She made sure of that.
And now she is remembered. When they looked at her desk, she was remembered. When they passed by her house, she was remembered. When her birthday came and passed, she was remembered. Remembered as a glass vase fallen onto the gound. Remembered only after she had fallen apart.
