We recycle plastics number 1 and 2, corrugated cardboard, paper, magazines, newspaper (when they just throw them on my lawn despite the fact we don't subscribe...), glass, tin, aluminum, phone books. We've been doing that for over 16 years. All our light bulbs are fluorescent bulbs, except maybe one incandescent in the entire house. I compost kitchen scraps and other organic waste. I don't use chemical fertilizers, insecticides, or herbicides (Partly because I'm violently allergic and my usually symptomless asthma gets dangerously bad.). We'd like to get a hybrid vehicle, but the current situation hasn't quite allowed us to get into that yet.
And our yard is the most densely planted in the neighborhood. My trees should be producing a lot of oxygen... at least enough to offset my heavy breathing during my daily workout that is surely adding carbon dioxycide into the atmosphere. XD
