First Doodle of '09

I was kind of grumpy when I went to bed last night for no good reason, and woke up feeling just as icky this morning, trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Now I'm thinking maybe what I needed was a doodle session! I haven't finished the craft projects that I'm supposed to be working right now and I haven't even gotten started on my niece's portrait for my sister in Japan that I'm supposed to be working on. I've been doing doodles too much lately I don't think I can do a serious portrait -- that, I haven't done in over a decade! So I've been avoiding commitments left and right and letting myself play on the whim. Feel just a tiny bit guilty, ... but just a tiny bit.
I wanted to do one of Hagi and Saya dancing a tango, but I'm still looking for good reference photos that I could use, so I'm putting that off. I've put this one off this long -- don't know why. I thought Jin's hair is always so much fun to draw, but...oh ho ho, Hagi's hair with those tiny curly q's ... has even more playfulness in it. I can't wait to do another one of him and this time I'll be doing a windswept version and going nuts.
I've noticed that my hubby looks disapprovingly upon my rotating wallpaper full of anime men. He doesn't seem to mind the chibi ones, but seems to not like the sexy ones. Yeah, it might be time for me to work on my baby niece's portrait just to get him off my back. XD
