2008 felt as if it came and went by in a flash. (Sure sign that I'm getting older...lol!) More good things than bad things, so that's a good year in my book.

Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year's Eve and a great 2009!

( And the final doodle of 2008. Let's see if I can finish this before midnight. )

Rowr! He looks so rakishly handsome. And BaU Mugen is still a smoker at 40, so that works too. Thanks so much for this!

He came out on the paper with a cigarette. (I'm glad it was consistant with what you had in mind.) I had to decide whether to give him a frown or a devilish smile. As you see, "devilish smile" won. :D

I hope your 2009 is full of wonderful things!

Haha. Thanks. I penciled in a frown first, then did a grin which rather looked evil, and decided to go with it. Taking a break from coloring it right now.

I've done that before with the very first watercolor Mugen I drew/painted. So I can understand how that goes. :D

Oh wow... I was thinking of giving him a cigarette too but I'll leave that out now. You get that confidence back right now, woman!!

Please, do what you originally had in mind. After I got this one all done and scanned, I saw the thread of your conversation with Laura about all the details about older Mugen pic. I just realized we had a very similar idea.

When I asked Laura she told me "sinfully grey-less for hair or beard, in suits or any modern day clothes (although naked in the epilogue)" and she sent me a visual for the beard. lol I just really wanted to draw him pulling his tie off -- for whatever the reason... *mind falling into the gutter*

I'm working on it right now and although it's still at the ugly sketch stage, it's very close to the vision in my head and also very close to what you've done. Are we sharing brain cells here? ^^

I might add the cigarette. But maybe not, because then it would be very similar to something else I'm drawing for a friend's birthday (different fandom but there's also a suit and the composition is very similar)

I had another version of much older Mugen envisioned in my head, but I did this one first because it's been months since I did a "pretty" version of him (no such thing as "pretty Mugen"! lol). catssyclaws and I had this crazy idea of Mugen with old geezer beard and wearing Chinese clothes looking like a character from Avatar deep in the mountains, probably doing Tai Chi pose with his sword. :D
