Our weekend PART ONE

Mar 22, 2009 17:19

It has been beautiful weather here, though yesterday was chilly as it never got above 48F.

Friday night, Bear made homemade macaroni and cheese from a new recipe and it was wonderful! He also made me a big salad with spinach, romaine lettuce, kidney beans, peas, cherry tomatoes, and carrots. Yum!

We had to have our blood drawn for our endocrinologist's visit this coming Tuesday, so we left the house Saturday around noon. It had to be fasting, but we went to bed late and didn't get going until then.

Here is a picture of the back of our house, so you can see the daffodils far down the left of the house, and the forcythia (Bear pronounces it "for-SIGH-thia" and I say "for-SITH-ia") in the foreground is starting to bloom. The wall around the corner at the house is covered with English ivy (Bear just calls it ivy!). This is a zoom view, from the car.

This is a photo of the house behind us, just off the street where we park. YES, that is a very steep driveway. The trees behind the houses are where at least one family of deer live.

On to the hospital. Or so we thought, until we realized we forgot my blood glucose monitor, so back home we went! This is Bear coming back to the car after climbing the steep hill (again), taken through the rearview mirror.

We drove by the front of our house on the way tot he hospital. You can see how far it is up from the street.

here is our hospital, up the hill and sort of behind the trees. It is a tiny thing!

Now, see Part TWO for the rest of the story!
