I am incredibly fatigued today, and am having trouble staying awake despite taking a half of a Provigil (1/4 no longer works). I fell asleep WHILE EATING SCRAMBLED EGGS this morning, which of course is dangerous as I could choke! Then I fell asleep at the table, with a full cup of coffee before me. It was ice cold when I finally woke up when the phone rang. Now I'm awake... but it was an incredible struggle to get here. I hate narcolepsy.
The phone call was the Girls, calling to tell me good news and bad news. I chose the bad news first -- let's get it out of the way! They went to Social Services to get help with the electricity bill of $180, but were told that there would be no crisis money available for that until Dec. 27. So, their electricity will be turned off from now until then. That also means no water, as their water is from a well, and an electric pump brings it up. It is going to be below freezing at night here, and near freezing most days between now and then (except today and tomorrow is supposed to be warm). We are beside ourselves as we can't pay it -- we have no money to help them. Adriel has severe fibromyalgia, arthritis and possible MS and cold air causes her tremendous pain. All they will have is a kerosene heater that they are trying to buy now (taking back the electric heater they have).
The good news is that Sasha DID get the job! It will be 40 hours a week, and she can set her own hours so she can work four 10 hour days and that way it will cost less in gas. It is about a half hour drive one way to work.
Bear is going to have the meeting at the agency where Emmie's group home is, rather than them coming here. Last night, my tongue went numb, just like I'd been to the dentist! We are attributing that to the stress of the meeting. I know it is confusing, but I'll write about it after Bear comes home.
Please keep the Girls in your thoughts and prayers. They are so desperate to get out of this financial hell they are in...
