1.) what was the best gift you ever got for Christmas, just in terms of personal enjoyment?
Probably the Waterman fountain pen that Bear got me a few years back. I love it!
2.) what was the best gift you ever gave someone else-- i mean, in terms of simple enjoyment, not, like, a kidney.
Quilts for all my children last year
3.)what food(s) MUST be on the table for it to feel like Christmas?
Turkey, I guess. And yams.
4.)what Christmas-related thing(s) annoys you to no end?
commercialism! And all the adverts on TV
5.)what would your fantasy tree look like?
We had it one year, and then had to leave the ornaments. A victorian Christmas tree, with soft colored balls and ribbons
6.)what do you wear on Christmas day?
Night gown and robe in the morning. this year I'll wear the Christmas vest Bear bought for me -- my first ever Christmas themed clothing!
7.) how do you spend Christmas Eve?
With the girls, watching a movie, eating great snacks, and opening presents to each other
8.) when do you open your gifts?
with the girls, on Christmas eve. With each other, Christmas morning. Not sure how it will go with Emmie this year. Maybe the evening will be with her and mornign we'll give her our gifts. Don't know yet. New territory!
9.)what are the traditional meals on both days?
We are making our own traditions now. Big snacks on the eve, with cheese as a main meal item. On Christmas Day, we have a meal like thanksgiving
10.) who gets a stocking in your house?
No one now.

12.) in what order are the gifts opened?
We always (on Christmas Eve) take turns opening a present and go around the room. Emmie usually has more than anyone so hers lasts longer at the end.
13.)what are your family tradions?
I've shared all that we have, really. I'd like to go to church on Christmas eve or day, but that's normally possible for me. Oh yes, we do decorate the mantle and the tops of doorways, and put up our Willow Creek nativity set
14.) do you have special Christmas themed china?
No, but we have special Christmas mugs we use
15.) what's for dessert on Christmas Day?
No idea this year. usually pie. We had Christmas pudding one year, and it didn't go down well with the Americans! (that was the same year that I had my emergency appendectomy!)
16.) do you have an unusual or unique decoration, aside from something made by a child?
We decorate our Christmas tree with small stuffed bears that we've collected together over the years. Every year there is at least one or two new ones. makes for a very cute tree, and one safe for cats
17.) do you enjoy having Christmas carolers come to your door?
have never had them. Never will, as long as we are in this house.
18.) do you enjoy going caroling?
I used to absolutely LOVE it!
19.)do you decorate absolutely EVERYTHING, like bathrooms, special Christmas bed linens, throw rugs, towels, etc?
Nope.
