Good news about Emmie
Last nightm, Emmie called to say goodnight before going to sleep (I love that). She sounded sort of down, or at least, rather flat.
We questioned her, but she insisted things were good. Then she asked what she needed to bring to our house to stay Monday night. Now, she knows what to take to spend a night somewhere as she has been doing that for years, with her sisters and such. Bear told her, and she was silent. Then he asked her, "Do you want to stay there instead of coming and spending the night with us?"
"Would you guys be mad at me if I did that?" she asked, quietly.
We both (on speaker phone) piped up and told her that of course we wouldn't mind and of course she might want to stay at her new home and get more settled in.
"I have a lot of people here to talk to," she replied.
We reassured her that we wouldn't be mad, and that she could come see us any week that she wanted to, and we can talk on the phone daily....
What a great thing! She is so happy there that she doesn't want or need to come home to visit! Amazing!
Of course, my mother-heart was a tiny bit sad, hoping that she eventually WILL want to visit! I know we'll see her at Christmas.
