Word Count and other stuff

Well, I can't stand being behind schedule. So... I wrote 3,300 words today. I'm up to 18,357 words, which is only 20 words ahead of schedule. I far prefer being ahead to being behind!

The plot is cooking along nicely. I never dreamed I'd be able to write fiction, but this is just pouring out. Of course, a lot of it is based on things I've actually experienced (and of course, a lot I haven't) so that helps. Things like moving from Houston to Kansas and the culture shock of it.

My novel is going to be far more than 50,000 words, I can tell, but that's good, not bad. 50,000 words is just over being a novella, from what I understand.

Bear has been reading it as I write, getting the new pages after he comes home from school. He really likes it, but of course, he is biased. However, he has no qualms in telling me when he DOESN'T like something, so that's good, too.

When I went to the rheumatologist last week, she said that my muscles in my back were VERY tight, and that I needed deep massage. The physical therapist should be calling me sometime to set it up. I'm not helping it any by spending hours typing, I can tell you that!

My daughter, Adie, and her partner, Sasha, have moved away. Not far, but to another town and another state! Just over the mountain from here, to Bishop, WV. Hopefully Adie will be able to get medicaid more easily. But they have to sell their trailer and then change everything from one state to the next. A real chore. Their cell phones can't get signal at all there, so they are out of reach for the most part. I hate that! There was a financial crisis, but it has worked itself out (thanks to Sasha's mom). They can't ever get ahead. It doesn't help that Adie is so disabled and can't work. Still waiting on the appeal for her Soc. Security Disability.

okay. over and out.

nanowrimo, adie
