Woke up late this morning with very sore muscles, so I was lazy and paid to take a taxi to the theatre. The taxi driver guy on the way there was pretty nice. We talked about how great it is that it's finally spring. :D
The show was *amazing.* I'd never seen the theatrical version of "Chicago" before, so there were definitely some surprises. However, it was incredibly well done, and I was jealous of all of the singers. :D I love city community theatre...they can do so much more with a bigger budget! I wish there was a way to get such money into my own hometown theatre company...but that just doesn't work in a town of 1600 people.
The taxi driver on the way back seemed nice at first. I was incredibly excited from the show and talked animatedly for awhile. He told me that he tried to watch the movie version of Chicago and couldn't make it through it because he didn't like it. Therefore, the conversation sort of died. :P After a slight lull, he suddenly said "I'm so depressed." I was just like o.O. So I tried to be all sympathetic...
Me: Aww....just a long day?
Him: Pfft. I wish it was just a day.
Me: oh.
Him: More like years. If it was just day, I'd take a day off and everything would be fine. But no, no...
Me: oh.
*silence*
At this point, I became worried that his comment on depression was going to lead to him crashing us into a building to commit suicide or something, and I would just be a tragic causualty. I was, understandably, rather stressed for the rest of the ride, but had no idea where we were, and hence couldn't just ask the man to pull over. He swore at the drivers who were going too slow infront of us, talked about Hollywood actors, and we made it safely to my rez. Much to my relief. :D
I was so happy to be alive and still pumped about the play, so I popped in my Chicago soundtrack and pumped up the volume while I logged onto IRC and called Swiss Chalet for dinner. ^_^
Theeeeeeeeeeeen....the phone rang. I was like "Wow, Swiss Chalet has *never* been this fast." Then the guy on the phone was like "Hey, it's Matt." My mind raced for what seemed like ages for Matts. I only have one Matt in my dred class, and he has a very distinctive voice, that was not like this Matt's. Then my mind finally woke up and was like "OMG IT'S *MATT*!" And then he passed the phone around and I giggled at everyone. *g* It was super cool until we got disconnected, and then super cool again when they called back. Now, if I just learn how to talk on the phone rather than listen and giggle, life will be good. ^_^ <33333 Oh, and never make me play guessing games again, oh meanie Kim. :P Even though I got it right. *g*
Life is good. :D
