Celebrating my favorite number with my favorite moth.

Sorry for the backlit picture.

"Tomoe" is the name for the shape of one half of the yin-yang symbol.  If there are three together, it's the symbol for water.  It's also a girl's name.  I kinda want to make this in to some sort of character but I don't have any real ideas beyond that.

Hitori is an interesting word.

"Hi" means fire and "tori" means taken by or killed by.

So how would you translate that...  Firetaken?  Firefelled?  Fireslain?

I knew these existed and it took me a year of hunting before I found one.  Not sure what they're trying to mimic.. A snake?  But the pattern looks like melting wax, so the Japanese name means "Wax Moth"

My picture doesn't do this justice because I was at the wrong angle. (Wrong angles are a big deal because of structural color.  If there are any other fans of structural color, let me know and I will rant you out.)
