My poor journal has been suffering neglect. I'll try and catch you all up briefly.
- Geoff and I moved. We love our new place! It's a duplex built in 1924 and has many of the original features. It's AWESOME :)
- I got "constructively fired." Meaning I did everything I was supposed to and my boss just made things more and more unbearable for me until I had to quit. Alas.
- Subsequently, I've done an obscene amount of job searching and have gone on a lot of job interviews.
- I had my first art show, and proceeded to get a weird, fast-acting flu hours before the show and missed the whole thing.
- I was feeling so ill from said flue that Geoff had to take me to our new local emergency room, which we both thought passed the test. They set me up an IV and gave me Zofran to stop the vomiting... only the second the nurse finished injecting it, I vomited up so much it surprised and impressed her. Go me :)
- I passed the flu on to Geoff. Sorry :(
- I had a fun shoot with a new photographer and took a bunch more of my own photos.
- Got all my animals living back with me. Finally :)
- Updated my site with a new Self Portraits section.
- I am still learning and practicing Reiki and now have a site dedicated to that work.
- But perhaps best and most important of all...
We got engaged.
This is excellent news. While we've been so busy with moving and putting the new house in order we have had little time to talk about wedding plans, I'm thrilled that I'm going to marry Geoff :) More wedding details to come as we have them... but it will probably be a little while since we're still busy with all the things that were keeping us from planning in the first place. But yay for us!
Photo time? Ok.
This and the next two are from
Slave To The Lens who is a very nice guy and fun to work with. This shot was my idea which I was very excited to have brought to life so dramatically.
These two were his idea, which I was also very happy to participate it :)
And now for the SP's:
She's Like Heroin... thanks to System Of A Down for another photo inspiration :)
This is a takeoff of Dante Gabriel Rossetti's painting Daydream. I don't know if you can read it in this small size, but my book says "Health Care Reform!" Because that is MY daydream :)
Bound. Feeling trapped and held back, by insecurity in my case. This one was hard to shoot as a SP because I had to set the camera, run over to my spot, put all my ties on, pose and HOLD IT within 10 seconds, for every single frame.
Cultus Procul Meus Sanctus Templum. (Juli please correct the Latin if it needs it.) This is my favorite one so far. This one touches on my ideas of sexuality.
More to come as things unfold :)
