I had this strong urge to make a picspam of movie posters that I really like. That's all for foreword. :D
SOB
Can't say that this movie is among my favorites... it's just too crazy/weird for my taste but boy does it have some damn funny parts. What I love the most is this poster, though. The film is a darn crazy parody of entire Hollywood and I don't even get why Paramount actually let Blake make this movie. It was a good stunt though, it ridicules the entire system. Def not recommended to those people who would be shocked to see Julie Andrews' boobs.
TORN CURTAIN
Not the best Hitch but not the worst either. Paul Newman and Julie Andrews together is just a must see. :D But it's really the art that's the point here, I love them.
WATERLOO BRIDGE
I don't think they got Vivien right but I love the poster nevertheless.
DIAL M FOR MURDER
These Dial M For Murder posters are possibly two of the BEST movie posters ever made.
REAR WINDOW
NOTORIOUS
AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER
REBECCA
I can't say they look ANYTHING like the actors but that matters very little in this case because it's just a darn good poster.
CASABLANCA
JAWS
Of course it has to be a woman who's in danger of a shark. Whatever. THEY EAT MEN, TOO, YOU KNOW! *g*
THE AMERICANIZATION OF EMILY
This one in particular is probably the best painting/poster art of Julie that I've seen... or well, of her eyes at least.
SOUND OF MUSIC
I like that they effectively portrayed the last, what, 5 minutes of the movie? But it's just a darn pretty.
This is here for LOL purposes only. Let me just point out that the big picture of Julie is from Darling Lili (1969). If you have seen Darling Lili, you'll know this is kind of like putting a big fattening candy into a healthy diet commercial, or Freddie Krueger onto a Cinderella poster. Or.... okay you catch my drift. So good going, poster maker. She looks pretty regardless though.
My favorite SOM poster, although the Captain certainly looks like he's about to whip her or something.
MARY POPPINS
This is just plain cute, really!
GONE WITH THE WIND
What I like on this is the entire composition and art. I think it's good work, I kinda like its low key atmosphere.
I feel that on all the billion GWTW posters I have seen, they usually get Clark right but not Vivien. Well here I definitely think Vivien is spot on.
*THE* GWTW poster. I LOVE the composition, the art, everything. Though the implication of this poster art, and practically 98% of all GWTW posters that use this picture always amused me. :D Poor helpless Scarlett is being carried by the big strong macho Rhett, when in reality girlfriend pounded her way through everything... and everyone. Yeah yeah I'm nitpicking, I love this tremendously. Let's pretend she passed out from his sexiness... which is quite plausible.
There will be a part two at one point because there are many others that I didn't include. And sorry I haven't replied to comments on previous entries, ya'all. I just either get completely lost in my paper, or waste my time with stuff like this picspam lol. I'll get to them soon! :D
