... on the work front
I've been feeling quite discouraged about my 1-day-a-week work schedule, which has been holding quite steady since Christmas holiday. Although I've gotten all kinds of things done around the house, I feel like I'm not contributing much to the household finances. Last week, when I was subbing for one of "my" small-town music teachers, I had the opportunity to talk with another sub in the district, and she was actually a little envious of my one day of teaching a week. Apparently it's more than she's been getting.
And here I was, worrying that Sub Office Lady was holding me in reserve in case she needed a music or French teacher, and not giving me other jobs that might be available because of that. I guess this really is the slow time of year, and I should stop freaking out about it. I'll just focus on taking the opportunity to continue accomplishing things around the house. :)
