Thom Yorke graphite portrait

Oct 03, 2007 07:56

I was going to ramble on and on about art school yesterday [painting has been put off till next week, because I bought the wrong color black, yes, there are SEVERAL different types of black oil paints].

I'll save the awesome "I love art school so much" update for another day.

Today I want to take care of the latest drawing I've finished.

Its a graphite portrait of Thom Yorke. I used a severe/graphic crosshatching technique and absolutely loved it. It was challenging and I'm going to continue with it, as I just love it.

I refuse to resize my pictures to a standard website size, so if you no likey, you can go fuck off. :P There is a full picture of the drawing and a picture of a detailed up close look at the crosshatching technique.

Feedback? Critique? Your reactions? Compliments? Love?

Any of it, all of it, I like hearing what people have to say, even if I don't end up liking it. :P

p.s. This is the most favorite piece of mine to date. I honestly can't think of a project I've loved more and felt so proud of. Props go to my art teacher Ryan. He really guided me through this process. He wants to take a picture of it and put it on my art school's upcoming site!!! Isn't that frickin awesome?! :D

p.s. Dude, seriously, from Gina's LJ update, I found out that Radiohead is releasing their new album next week, without a major label. I'm so unbelievably happy right now, I can't even put it into words. New Radiohead album...next week...holy fucking shit. Excuse me while I go hyperventilate with happiness now.
