Stupid Deadlines

Well, another few weeks have past and little has been done on the actual writing front. Now this isn't to say that work has not been done. My dad and stepmother had a 10 year anniversary party on Dec 4th. It was mainly a way for them to bring my father's family together which do not meet much anymore. It was a good meal of chicken and beef prepared buffet style but delightfully seasoned. I have been observing classes for my internship and doing further research for my projects, including loading my frustrating high pressure sample cell about six times till it loaded right. (I also realized that it may have been loaded right on one of the earlier runs but it just seemed off because of an assumption we had about what the sample out of the cell looked like.)

I had a good weekend, meaning I didn't get any substantial work done. However, I should probably transcribe that into being rested for the week ahead. I will only be working four full days this week because Friday I go to my grandmother's assisted living home for a Christmas buffet lunch and eat myself full of lumpias. I watched Monday night football with a friend from church for a Patriots vs Jets game. Man, that game was more lopsided than a two legged dog. I wanted the Jets to win but they seemed to be quite literally passing the football to the patriots defense. I was waiting for a Jets running back to run backwards and make a TD for the Patriots.

We are now officially in the intersession period. I have paid my tuition since my institute has the silly notion that I should have finished by now, and don't deserve the school funds. The frustrating thing is they are correct, despite it not being my fault entirely. So, here I stand hoping I can obtain and retain the focus and fearlessness required to push forward in my writing and the tenacity to hunt my adviser down like a hunter seeks a mighty stag in hunting season whenever I need his help. I leave you with the graduate school wisdom of PhD comics.
