I have been working on understanding X-ray crystallography for a paper that I will be a third author on, if it is published. Crystallography is some interesting but complicated stuff. I have put a lot of my thesis writing on hold so as ti read up on this material. However, it is likely that I will be able to use this as another chapter of my thesis. Yesterday, my boss and I talked with the crystallographer that worked on our crystal sample and gave us the results that suggest that there is a different likely crystal structure with some disorder (which are sort of juxtaposed ideas in my mind.) Right now, I am working on making some corrections to the initial draft of the paper, based on our meeting. Soon I will be writing the rough draft of the introduction to the paper, in the form of basics of X-ray crystallography.
I just finished reading The Magician's Nephew, which was a very good book. Apparently, some people say that I should have read "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" first because it was the first novel that Lewis wrote in the series, but others point to a letter and other notes from Lewis that suggest that he wouldn't mind or even suggest that we should read the books in chronological order. Anyway, I choose the chronological order. They seem to be relatively easy reads. I also received that next story arc in the Warriors series, "The Power of Three." I look forward to those, as the last arc left with some uncertainty of what will happen next. Anyway, back to work.
