Yesterday I had a good day. I took my mother to Disneyland for her Birthday. She got a free ticket because Disneyland is doing that this year for people's birthdays. Anyway, it was the first time I went to Disneyland with someone else since the trip with David several years ago. It was a great time. It was a little more crowded than I am used to especially for a Tuesday, but I guess students have been getting out of school. Anyway, besides that it was great, and besides we got on all the rides we wanted to. Although it took 50 minutes for the Indiana Jones ride. (Later on, when we passed by again, the rides had a 90 minute wait time.) Needless to say, we did not go on Indiana Jones more than once. We did get to go on Pirates of the Caribbean several times. Mom had me go on its a small world and several storybook rides I have not been on since I was a kid. Anyway, I got to see the changes to its a small world, and they weren't bad. Oh, we also stood in line for the new Submarine ride which was a bit of a wait.

Its hard to explain the enjoyment for Disneyland after all these years. Part of it s nostalgia, the other part is just admiration of what a community the park really seems to make up, there is just so much work going on there that keeps it moving smoothly and "magically." Funny thing, I saw some cast members that were familiar to me. One was an operator on the Star Wars Ride. I remembered his little ad lib spiel that he adds when getting you into the ride. I wish more operators were like him.

Now I have to get over that empty feeling that comes at the end of the fun from going to some place really great. But, I have things that need to get done which will bring me back to reality.

life, fun stuff
