the FUTURE

i got accepted to dc teaching fellows. in special ed. i cant sit still. i have 14 days to accept. i am nervous, excited, happy, terrified all at once. special ed??? i so don't know if i am strong enough to handle that. in one of dc's worst schools. mid-fenty take over. i also don't know how well special ed fits into my plans. or my vauge idea of what i would like to do with my life. i don't even know who to ask to find out if you can switch to a regular class room after getting a degree in special ed.
but i'm going to call the private school again, because teaching art and arth in a private school would be way less stressful. even fun. especially if i got to coach some skiing. i'd be pretty ecstatic. i miss skiing and racing, and it would be fun to be at races with kids and talk strategy and run clothes and be all coachy-like. but who knows when they will get their shit together or if they want more experience, or even just more studio experience.... uh, i have a portfolio of metal things, but about 3 lousy paintings to show. my drawing class at carleton was so traumatic, i threw out all my drawings oops.
anyway, if ines has any comments to share, i'd be especially happy to hear your opinions. :) of course, i could email you, ines. :p
