WMDs Found

Recently, I visted the Department of Defense's website and found this intriguing article reporting that WMD have indeed been found in Iraq.

Highlights include:

The 500 munitions discovered throughout Iraq since 2003 and discussed in a National Ground Intelligence Center report meet the criteria of weapons of mass destruction, the center's commander said here today...

The munitions found contain sarin and mustard gases...

The munitions addressed in the report were produced in the 1980s, Maples said. Badly corroded, they could not currently be used as originally intended, Chu added.

Although many opponents of the war insisted on ignoring all of the reasons given for the war except WMDs, which they claimed were not found and never would be, it appears that even this last defense has been found erroneous. Not only was Saddam continuing his weapons programs, but he had failed to dispose of his previous stockpiles as he had been ordered to do. Furthermore, weapon inspectors had not found them and likely never would have because of his constant shell games.
