I guess it's not surprising that I'm theorizing about slash, is it?

I was having a conversation on facebook with a guy I met at camp.  Some background - recently, he has been convinced to read the Shoebox Project.  So every once in a while, he's been putting up amusing quotes as his status.  Also, he is straight.

Harry here is a pretty cool guy.  I'm going to assume that what he means here is that he doesn't mind reading stuff with romance/sexual tension, but he finds it awkward with two guys.

So this is went through my head - it isn't awkward for a straight girl to read femslash.  So why should a straight guy who is okay with romance feel awkward reading slash?

"But Artemis," I hear you say, "Artie, dear, you aren't exactly the straightest of females, are you?"  To which I reply, no, I suppose I am not.  So I guess that I don't really know if a totally straight girl feels awkward reading slash.  Which is why I turn to you, Friends List.  Some of you lovely ladies must be pretty straight, yes?  Perhaps you can give me a more definite answer.  And even if you aren't, I would love to hear your opinion.  Come forth and discuss!

ETA: Oh dear, that picture is rather small, isn't it?  If you can't read it, I can transcribe it for you guys, just let me know!

slash, discussion tiemz, everybody in the world is gay
