Liveblogging Game of Thrones 4x06 and other stuff
Whoa, lots of shows to catch up on (this weekend for baking for Sunday's fair) - so many finales this last week.

Yeah Dinklage! And Varys. At least there’s no Littlefinger, but wait, no STARK SISTERS!!!! OUTRAGE! No Bran too... NEW LOCATION!! its blurry, but its Braavos cause of those LEGS! Wait aren’t they an island and not in the same continent as Mereen? Will it be live-blogging if I rewind?
Boats: Stannis, snore. Legs! So if they look up the kilt, what will they see ... I don’t think they say in the books either. Stannis, pompous, entitled and so Boring. “Numbers” heh, they mean Cashflow! Davos!!!! Making a Case. A Good case. Can’t he be king instead? (And I thought Davos only had three fingers?)
ARGH, more sexposition. It would be funnier if Stannis (and his stank face) had come with
Yara/Asha. Ramsay might have made a Haymitch mistake: if Theon’s fav-toy was the most important part, any more parts in more boxes really doesn’t matter? Is this Dreadfort or Moat Caollin. Women being bad-ass -- and a man just throwing it back in her face. Brothers! Ingrates! I really don’t want to see him breechesless.

Oberyn! More Councils! I want Olenna in the Council. Debate: which is better: NoDesire v. TooLusty! Is Varys lusting for the Throne? But neither he nor Littlefinger can sit on it.
Lannister LawAndOrder. Tommen:May the Gods Punish the Accused” Traditonal words, or does Tommen suspect Tyrion didn’t do it? We hate Ser Meryn - we want him to have a gruesome death.
What’s with Margaery’s sighs? Is she playing the crowd, deflecting suspicion? Or, is she disgusted with speciousness of the facts.
Oh, Varys - couldn’t you spin?
Oo, Jaime makes a deal. Ah, Tywin doesn’t believe Tyrion did it either - its all to get Jaime back. Or he’s manipulating Jaime or manipulate Tyrion. (This is new to the books, I like - it shows Tywin isn’t as stupid as Cersei to really believe Tyrion killed Joffery just to get back on his sister, but is just using the opportunity to manipulate everyone around him. But his success only adds to his hubris).
Oh Shae - I’m not sure how I feel about this. Show Shae is so different from the books. Is she being coerced or she is saying F.U. for setting me aside. But show Tyrion is genuinely heartbroken: His Mea Culpa speech is thus more convincing.
Trial by combat. Hmm, not much of a cliffhanger. And its “Rains of Castamere” YET again - what we didn’t hear that enough at weddings.
Is it Game of Thrones IF there are no Starks? I guess we are now in Book 4, where none of the Starks had PoVs. But its still Book 3 for the Trial. And Book 5 for the Theon and Mereen stuff.
Overall, a slow episode. Not much happened (Theon was still a prisoner even after a rescue attempt, so nothing happened there). We have two new characters: teen Drogon and that Maester (all I can remember from the book and the show is HZQ and all I see are Scrabble!Tiles), as well as a remembrance what a dick Ser Meren is (who was guarding Joffery that day) and how awesomely teflon Varys is. Even the showpiece of the episode, the Trial (awesome acting of Dinklage’s outburst), - but except for Shae and maybe Jaime’s deal-making no surprise there. So we had banking, governing, letter reading, and more committee meetings. Admittedly, Bureaucracy! is so boring to reveal in TV, its a wonder that it was interesting at all, even with the two sexpositions (was Ramsay’s really necessary?)

I need to vow not to watch OUAT after GoT - the production value and editing and the writing doesn't stand well right after HBO.

You’d think the person who can reference Marty McFly would not need to be told about don’t change the past speech from Hook. Strange, since Time Travel hasn’t yet been invented in the Enchanted Kingdom, then all these Star Trek scenarios ought to come from Swan , not Hook.

And who is the mystery woman? Oh, I can guess - MM? Oh wait, the timing would be all wrong - His son would be older and Hood would never forgive the person responsible for killing MM.

Overall, probably the best episode for seasons that gave us the dragging Peter Pan family affair and The Wicked Witch thing. The internal logic of the story was enough that the episode didn't need much exposition - plus we got to see a lot of old cameos (RED! Neal! and Cricket!) I'm not sure what I think of Elsa as the new baddie/new character - it just feels a bit TOO SOON for a new take on Frozen.

Why does Alanna even stay involved? She's so bias, but I love how he now don't give her any slack now? My anger grows at her bad judgement.
I actually like hannibal's distaste for Mason, but why give away Margot?
