Cerri's dead.

On Wednesday, she was fine. Thursday morning, she crouching like she did when she first got sick and refusing to eat. We took her to the vet, but she just kept getting worse. And this morning it was just.... She never would have recovered.

And now I can't stop crying.

In my experience, cats generally don't scratch humans. At least my cats don't. The only times I've ever been scratched or bitten, I was either three years old and getting in their faces, holding them upside down, grabbing at tails, etc, or getting too close to a mother cat's kittens, or trying to shove things down their throat ( Read more... )

Cerri's home! She'll need all sorts of medication and monitoring, but she's home. She's going to be okay. She's really going to be okay.

Right now, she's hiding out in a paper shopping bag on the floor. I love her so much...

Cerri's blood count is up to about 12% (from 5%), which is exactly what we've been hoping/waiting for. She still needs the oxygen tank, but hopefully she'll be able to keep going without anymore transfusions. According to the vet, if it gets up to around 18%, she'll be able to come home ( Read more... )

Rai came over this afternoon/evening to catch up on Torchwood with me (I finally watched the last episode!), which was great. It's terrible, but it's so much better watching it with somebody. Cerri is sick again. I thought about posting about this yesterday, but I just ... couldn't think about it. I can't even write this now without breaking down....

Last night I had a dream that involved ants crawling all over Tom, going back and forth from this hole in his skin, which I eventually figured out was a puncture wound from Kisty attacking him. Tom is sick. I'm terrified to realize that he might die. That possibility doesn't seem real to me. It never has. But sometimes, I'll look at him and realize that it'll happen someday. And it'll hurt more than I can imagine.

He's the sweetest, smartest, most resourceful one. And the most beautiful. And he's mine, and I love him ( Read more... )
