So I watched that new show GREEK tonight. I'd been reading about it and how so many brothers and sisters of fraternities and sororities around the nation were in complete awe that a show like this would air and that it'll ruin everything that they've built to get away from the stereotype of being a sister and brother. However... it did not paint fraternities and sororities in a bad light at all, especially considering actual stereotypes and their truths. There are fraternities that pretty much just party and there are frats that act high and mighty. And to boot, the show shows a good part of life as the main girl character Casie works through problems to hold her status and power. I'm a brother of a fraternity (granted it is the band fraternity but to say the least we're more of a fraternity than a band club thank you very much) and watching it kinda gave me a sense of pride, especially as VPM. I guess people just need to lighten up and realize this is just fiction.
