So I’m in a “cabaña” in
Boquete, ChiriquÃ. It’s 78°F, according to Google, but after several days of much hotter temperatures than that, it feels cooler than 70°F. Maybe it’s the wind that makes it feel colder.
I’m on the internet, sorta. It’s stable enough to load a few sites, but Skype is not happy, which means I’m sad because I can’t call M. :( Even Gmail is too slow to work right.
On the bright side, we were able to visit everyone we intended to see in
David, and made our present-delivery rounds. That included my aunt D, my uncle R (the oldest, who has Alzheimer’s now), my Mom’s aunt C (who told me she was a twin, something I didn’t know), my Godfather J, my Godmother D, and F, one of my Mom’s oldest friends. While visting uncle R, we ran into his son R and his wife, who live in Louisiana. She’s actually from there, and he’s been in the States since before she or I were even born. (He’s 47 and she’s 27, like me.) Everyone except C looks like they’re getting older; she’s pretty much the same as ever.
Have barely made a dent in Dragonriders. Can’t focus on reading English when there are people talking Spanish all around me. Hopefully tonight I can give it my full attention before going to bed.
