Personal
Name some traits that you value in a boss or leader: I like someone who has reasons behind their orders, and tell their subordinates why they're being asked to do something. Intelligence, of course, is a near-must. Someone personally invested in the success of the group, who actually cares what happens. I like leaders who aren't afraid to have a little fight in them, be a little rebellious, be progressive and step outside the box sometimes. They should be able to motivate well, communicate effectively. Presence. Own up to their mistakes. I'd like a somewhat nurturing leader, but hell, it's Hueco Mundo; I'm not naive enough to ask for that. But respect would be nice, maybe even a little personable sort of leadership.
Some you dislike? I'm not one for overly distant leaders. It makes me suspicious, and I'd find it hard to be loyal to such a person, frankly. Undeserved arrogance is also frustrating, and I hate people who monopolize credit on good ideas--and minimize their part in the bad. Cruelty to subordinates gets a no from me, as does stupidity and overall lack of respect/insensitivity. I'm not particularly fond of lapdogs; while I see the advantage in sucking up to the highest-higher up, I dislike it when someone can't speak their mind or even challenge their higher authority. It's understandable to a certain extent, but afterwards, it makes them look weak. Also, I sincerely doubt I'd work well with a prejudiced leader...Bad idea.
Name some traits you have that you think a boss or leader would find useful: I'm intelligent and creative. I can get things done on time--and done well. Dependable. I'm pretty damn loyal if I have a reason, and extremely trustworthy. I'm passionate, and give a damn about what we do and how my leader and I are perceived. I'm competitive and motivated when I'm in the right mood, and will work hard to my ends consequently. I don't have a real interest at being top of the chain of command, so my leader wouldn't have to worry about me overthrowing him/her for power purposes, unless I just thought they sucked. Then they might want to watch out.
Some that wouldn't be useful? If I don't like the reasons given for an order, I can be quite challenging and rebellious--opinionated and stubborn. I can also be passive-aggressive, and very moody. But I also really suck at making decisions, because I'm pretty insecure, which would frustrate a lot of leaders. I cling to past wrongdoings and am ready to exploit them, and I can become very envious of my peers.
Do you mind being viewed as expendable or replaceable? Yes. I'm silly and like to think I'm a unique little snowflake :P I'd at least like some respect, and some thought be given to my individual talents and contributions.
Hypothetical Situation
You have a lazy unproductive boss. Do you report him to the higher ups or try to get him to do work? I wouldn't want to come off as a tattle, so I'd probably try to get him/her to do it first. I'd probably start subtle, before asking other subordinates if they find it frustrating; if so, work with them to motivate my boss, as it seems more effective if more than one of us complains to him/her. If not, we all report him/her. I usually work better by myself, but in this situation, it seems more effective to work together--and it saves me from being the one my boss likes the least.
Your boss is verbally abusive. How do you react?Eek. Mutter something to remind them they can get in trouble for that, but more subtle, so I can at least try to keep my job. If I thought I could really get away with, probably bite back to defend myself--and maybe even embarrass them. But I'd be careful. I'm not rash enough that I'd run my mouth off without thinking, especially in a place like Hueco Mundo. If it's really out of character for them, though, I'd probably let it slide.
Your boss is, well, the type of person that seems like they will kill you in your sleep. Reaction? Be nervous as all hell, really; I get nervous enough as it is. So try to get on their good side, without becoming a lapdog and losing the respect of my peers. Watch what I say and how I act. Common sense.
Your boss doesn't really seem to notice you exist or care. Your thoughts on this? While it's to be expected in Hueco Mundo, it still sucks. I want to be seen as special, valuable, and I can't fully fulfill the purpose of serving my leader and doing my work if I'm not getting recognized for it; if my full value isn't realized, I'm stuck at a roadblock and can't get better. So I'd probably get upset, and try to work harder to get their attention. If my peers are being recognized over me? Oh, will I get jealous D: I'd probably get a little unhinged consequently.
Your boss(for whatever reason) wants to eat you (seriously). What are your thoughts on this matter? Assuming they want to eat all of me: ...Is there a good reason? And is there any way I can survive? If there's not a good reason, forget it, I'm gone. If there is? And it costs me my life?...I'd be very reluctant. I'd only do it if I would also die if he/she didn't eat me, like if allowing myself to be eaten stopped some impending doom or apocalypse. Though I don't..know..why it would? XD;
