Only a few days till I get to see the PoopMaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Super excited.
So the gala was Saturday....

out of control!! I haven't had that much fun in so long... we danced and sang the night away, raising what is now over $2 million for scholarships, then, after all was over, we got to throw flutter-fetti ALL OVER the concert hall! It was literally everywhere!!!! So much so that Malinda and I attacked Dan Wagner Chair of Theatre Dept with it... "Ouch that hurt!.... that make you feel better, John?" WE LOVE YOU DAN! Then Malinda and I made confetti-angels and laughed.
THEN... there was an OPEN BAR and DANCE FLOOR in the Kogod! So we danced and drank the night away (not before they had fireworks over the CSPAC which were awesome, ending in a firey UMD symbol only a few feet from us)... 6 screwdrivers, a rum/coke and one red wine later, I was falling and laughing and Helene drove me home. =) Too funny... and Malinda was so drunk that she was about to dance with President Mote before I talked her out of it.
The next day I cried, of course, when we went for 116 to the US Holocaust Museum in DC... Daniel's Story was too much to handle.
Anywho... have been reading Shakespeare this semester like it's my job. LOVE Othello. Love/Hate Iago. LOVE LOVE LOVE Winter's Tale, which I have basically read a million times and will continue doing... Billy Boy really knew what it is to be human, ya know? So smart. Also tomorrow morning the first 490 paper is due.... yay.... I'm doing mine on the Dithyramb of Ancient Greece... yay! So I should go and get a little typing finished before rehearsal tonight. ... so tired.... love!

Two Americans were be-headed in two days, adding to the dozens of American civilians killed in Iraq, over 1000 soldiers killed in Iraq and over 7000 wounded. That added to the many thousands of Iraqi citizens killed. Iraq was not a threat to the United States. Containment through the United Nations was working. Hussein's government was getting weaker and he had constituted no weapons programs. There was no functional relationship between Hussein and terrorists. In-fact, there were no terrorists in Iraq, because Hussein was a dictator and ruled with an iron fist. Now? Terrorists are pouring into Iraq and sentiment has long-ago turned against America amonst Iraqis.
Yes President Bush, the world is better without Hussein in power, I know that, so don't mock me. I just tend to attempt to look at the whole picture. Tens of thousands dead, so many more wounded or without home... Instability in the Middle East and alliances absolutely necessary to combating terrorism, shattered. Sure, Hussein's not killing Iraqis anymore. Now United States soldiers are killing Iraqis because they are killing Americans.
The National Intelligence Council released an estimate that things will either stay the same or get worse - with a possibility of a Civil War. How do we solve this problem, with a President and a Republican Party who does not even admit that it exists?
Let's remember what this election is really about.
