I have a Sony Vaio and it has not given me a single problem yet -- unless being so awesome a computer I might explode is a problem. Plus I got to customise it to my specifications. Cost me about $1200 altogether; I'm assuming you don't want to spend that much.
My previous computer was an Acer, and until the laptopocalypse, it served me very well. Even it was dying slowly of heat stroking and melty parts. It cost me about $560 from Wal-Mart.
LET'S GO SEE SCOTT PILGRIM. NO ONE ELSE CAN GO WITH ME.
fff, I love Sony. My brother's desktop is still chugging along and he's had it since the paleolithic era. That's a little bit more than I aimed for, but I'm planning on trekking into Best Buy for this (and subsequently PROBABLY GETTING ANNOYED OR IGNORED. LOL TITTIES.) so I can finance it, so. My biggest thing is : Will this last? OKAY THEN.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE? THIS MOVIE REALLY IS EPIC. IT EVEN HAD ZELDA MUSIC, JES. ZELDA MUSIC!
You are always free to text me during work! I'd be honoured. I get unlimited text, too. /o/
Well, shipping was also a factor in mine, since I ordered it straight from Sony -- without tax and shipping, it was around $900. Not terrible, really. (Of course, this isn't counting the $150 I spent on Word Office 2010; fruck you, Microsoft.)
... z-zelda music? (that is the sound of jes's heart growing three sizes larger.)
I have unlimited texting and data, but they charge extra for texts to Mexico and Canadialand. So I end up refreshing twitter like a fiend, looking for fun! Still... :(
$150 for Word alone? W-what?! This is why I keep using the same disks until they become absolutely obsolete. I wish I could survive without stupid Word. All its competitors are terrible.
YES.
There's a dream sequence where the music from Ocarina of Time's Fairy Fountain plays! (That one stands out, since I love it so much, but there are a LOT more.)
I no longer get twitter on my cellphone! :( Otherwise every day would be like Halloween, with plots of world domination via twitter from Niagara Falls. (Yes, I was tweeting you from Niagara Falls. How awesome is that?)
Word, Powerpoint, Excel, the whole lot. I choose to consider it an investment.
.... /goes to happy place. I want to play Ocarina of Time now.
